The Killeen Chair of Theology and Philosophy Lecture Series

In the Spring of 2025, the Killeen Chair of Theology & Philosophy is celebrating the 60th anniversary of Nostra Aetate, the Church’s declaration on non-Christian religions issued at the Second Vatican Council. Since 1965, this document has profoundly shaped the Catholic Church’s engagement with other religious traditions. Nostra Aetate features explicit acknowledgement of, and appreciation for, the spiritual journey of Hindus, Buddhists, and Muslims, and perhaps most importantly, a pivotal reassessment of Christians’ relationship with the Jewish people. The two Killeen Chair lectures will continue the important work of Nostra Aetate by looking ahead to Christian engagement with Islam and Judaism.
